In search of a piece of ground they could call their own to raise a family and establish the family farm, the Peterson's purchased a 10 acre plot of land sight unseen based on an article in the San Francisco Chronicle and moved northeast to the small town of Lodi California. The land on this property was fertile, the water was pure, and the climate was ideal. In those first years they planted grapes and cherries and raised hogs.
